Courses of repoussé and chiseling: the ancient techniques of artistic metalworking, such as embossing - repoussè - and chiseling - chasing -, are part of the culture and tradition of many peoples in the world and even today these techniques have in fact kept the same ancient tools. Steel mallet and chisels have always been used to create works of art in the processing of silver, gold and non-precious metals such as copper and bronze. The courses aim to train the student in the overhang and chisel of flat or round objects; the learned technique can be applied in the goldsmith's, silverware, and in the working of bronzes or artistic works.
Basic course: the objective of the basic course is to guide the student to complete a flat work, with the techniques of embossing - repoussé - and chiseling on the slab. Part of the course will include guided tours with a visit to the Museums or Churches of Pistoia and Florence, for the visual examination and a technical description of some of the silver or bronze works present.
